Supporting Survivors: A Longstanding Commitment to Riseup Society

Supporting community initiatives goes beyond mere goodwill; it’s at the heart of one of our core values, “Be the change” – focusing on business growth alongside community wellness. At Tier 3 I.T Solutions, we believe in combining forward-thinking IT services with genuine social responsibility. In 2015, when the Riseup Society of Alberta struggled with potential closure due to financial hurdles, we provided rent-free and utility-free space. This act was about more than just offering space; it enabled them to continue their vital work supporting survivors of intimate partner violence. Our ongoing relationship with Riseup Society shows that truly understanding and addressing community needs can foster meaningful, long-term success.

Tier 3 I.T Solutions in the Community

We believe that it is our corporate responsibility to support the communities that support us.  As a small business we are often asked to make donations to a myriad of different causes and we do some of that.  However, we have found that our impact can be far greater when we focus our efforts on a few key community groups.  By focusing our efforts on our “Charities of Choice” we can amplify our impact within the communities we serve:

Riseup Society of Alberta:  In 2015 Riseup was on the brink of closure due to financial difficulties and a lack of funding.  They sent a request for donations out to local businesses asking for money to help them continue their operations.   Instead of providing a one-time donation we opted instead to offer them rent and utility free use of 1,200 square feet at the back of our building. Over the next year we renovated and built out a professional space and helped them continue their operations.  Riseup Society is a not for profit agency focused on providing low or no cost counselling and support services to men and women who are suffering from the effects of intimate partner violence. To this day Riseup Society credits the support of Tier 3 I.T Solutions with keeping them afloat and operational.  We have a video interview between Jesse Hill and Erna Carter, the previous Executive Director of Riseup Society posted on our webpage that will explain more about this relationship.

Our receipt of the “Spirit of Giving” award by the Leduc, Nisku and Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce in December 2015 is a testament to our enduring commitment to community service and corporate social responsibility. By providing rent-free and utility-free accommodations to the Riseup Society of Alberta, we were able to directly support a critical community service, empowering them to continue providing essential support to victims of intimate partner violence.

Being recognized in this manner demonstrates the integral role businesses can play in nurturing their communities and highlights the value of incorporating community well-being into the fabric of corporate practice.
